Ford Update
I found out what is wrong with the car.
It’s the round thing on the front! That blue oval that says Ford. I’m sure if it had a different badge it would run ok, stop, keep all it’s bits on and be the new car that we purchased.
Well it started this morning after a night left at the shopping center at Erina. The security guards kept an eye on it after they helped my wife last night to put it in a safe place. The problem turns out ot be intermitent, so diagnosing the problem is near impossible unless it happens again. But it will probably happen at traffic lights during peak hour. Finding the cause will prove to be difficult. All that can be done is to remove the throttle body and inspect for any corrosion or debri that may be causing the problem. The next step will be to disconnect the wiring loom and ‘fiddle’ with ALL the connections. My Multimeter will tell me if any are suspect connections.
A little bit of petrol and a match should have it looking and running like new.
The forums are FULL of people with dodgy Fords.
They all seem to have the same problems with loosing thier brakes, brake shudder, stalling, power loss and generaly bad cars.
Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention is the heater fan has a squeak that makes you want to punch the dashboard as hard as you can!
Are Ford the worst car?
Well our Ford Falcon BA XT has broke down again! What is it with these crappy cars? More bathrooms to Renovate to pay for the Ford again.
The list of problems is endless,
Loss of BRAKE PEDAL!!!!
Foot went to the floor and no brakes AT ALL!! Ford have fixed it under warranty as a ‘service update’. I think no brakes would be a major recall as it’s happening to a large number of Falcons across Australia. Swallow your pride Ford and make this a major recall. Too many people are scared to drive their Falcons because of this Model Wide Fault’ . If you are followed by a Ford Falcon or Territory stay well in front of it. You could be rear ended because of brake failure.
Driving through Sydney on the way to the Airport with no brakes is not fun!
Power Steering Fluid Leaking Everywhere!
This has been fixed by a local mechanic after the ford dropped it’s lunch on the garage floor. This happened at 37,000km.
Mouldings are falling off!
Both rear door mouldings are falling off. One has been totally replaced at our expense. The other is starting to peel off on the passenger side. It makes the car look old before it’s time.
Front Brake Shudder.
This is woeful! Ford have consistently provided cars with inadequate brake disks on the front of the falcons. We’ve had three falcons and all have had the same problem. This problem with the brake shudder started at 30,000km. I removed the Brake Disks and replaced them with DBA Ventilated Disks. The difference was amazing. Silky smooth brakes instantly. I new if I took them to be machined, that would only make the disks thinner and cause it to happen again sooner. The car has now done 70,000km and not a hint of brake shudder or fade from the DBA Disks.
That Stupid Cup Holder in the Console.
EEEK! This is useless and Clutsy. It will break if you sneeze within arms reach of the car. An absolute design ‘faux-pas’.
And Finally, but I’m sure it won’t be the final fault.
Throttle Sensor has an intermittent Fault!
The car keeps stalling after driving for more than half an hour.
This is so annoying. This ‘Ford’ (Found On Rubbish Dump) vehicle must have been a stop gap. How could anyone still be in business when they sell things like this?
Ford, you should be ashamed!
The Government should step in and make Ford do a major recall for the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
NEVER AGAIN! And don’t buy my second hand one either.
